Crisis of Creativity

Things I have not been able to do for approximately the last three weeks:

-Get creative for my class projects (a story about a lime green chair deserves a chance)

-Blog creatively (you can pretend otherwise but we both know it’s the truth)

-Edit my current Work In Progress (I hate the working title so that will be my excuse)

Essentially I have been caught in a pool of creative stagnation.

So of course I did what any logical writer would do… I started a new novel. I am not even going to deny that the fact it is set in Vegas is me projecting.

What do you do to get going again?

  1. I wish I had a solid answer for that one! Once, I solicited my WordPress family to give me one word, and I made it a challenge to build writing around it. And the lime green chair was actually quite famous back in the art-deco years where it lived luxuriously in a New York City brownstone, even though it was retrieved from a dump. I’m just rambling – I need more coffee! Where was I? Oh yeah, I usually just end up waiting until some mojo returns πŸ˜‰ Peace . . .

  2. Take a break and put it away for awhile. Enjoy the Easter weekend. Go back to it when the urge comes. Remember however that no one listens to me anyway!!

  3. Try escaping from your daily routine. I live in a suburb of Miami so I’ve been thinking about going to South Beach for drinks and bites on Lincoln Road, which I haven’t done in a couple of years. Those types of outings should spark the creative mind. (Don’t forget your writing tools) πŸ˜‰
