The practice has become ritual.
Dancing with the Agave.
Lime and salt intermixing upon my tongue.
The burn, the burn it’s
Only temporary.
The residual ecstasy is fleeting.
Oh Tequila you saucy minx.
Each time you justify the pleasure being worth the pain.

Happy Cinco De Mayo.
Fun in the Sun Friday
Something weird has been happening in Colorado the last few days, the weather has been amazing. We have seemingly with perhaps only a few minor hiccups remaining left winter behind. It is about damn time, I love winter but it has its place which should promptly end some time in March.
The nice weather naturally led me outside to frolic, yes I still frolic at my age. While I was out frolicking something funny happened. I realized I had missed almost all, wait I am always honest with you all, I missed pretty much all of my writing goals. I did not sit down for one minute last weekend and work on my blog and any other various project for that matter. Instead I focused intentionally on fun on the patio and unintentionally on sunburns on my shoulders.
This got me to thinking also a scary thought after a long week at work, how can I make sure that the weather of summer does not lure me away from my writing? If you want to be a writer it’s simple you have to write. For me the best thing to do is to set some summer goals. That and maybe find a new patio where I can not only enjoy the sun but bring my laptop.
My Summer Goals-
1. Edit my two novels.
2. Finish a very, very rough draft of my memoir.
3. Expand my Blog.
4. Read 25 completely new books.
5. Still enjoy some fun in the Sun 😉
What are your goals?
How To…
So This Is How It Really Went Down
Camp NaNoWriMo: The Truth Exposed
Final Word Count- 38,941
Target Goal- 50,000
So close yet so very far……
I will guarantee this much, I am going to finish this story. Hell I am even going to edit it.
I am real proud of it and the progress I made despite missing the word count (curse my competitive streak).
It’s full of a little thing that I like to call potential. Â
Possibility
Emotionally overwhelmed,
Eternal battle between
Drive and Complacency.
Chasing the elusive white Rabbit.
Late at night my mind fills;
with plans, ideas, goals.
Hopeful that grand dreams transform into grander realities.
Always the harsh glare from
The sun awakens me.
Forces the heavy burden of truth,
upon my shoulders.
A Reckoning Is Coming.Â
The Friday Bucket List
I am generally speaking an extremely superstitious person, it is ingrained in my nature. Therefore my next few thoughts go against pretty much all of my instincts. Things have been going quite well lately; new job, school, great progress on my latest book and a blog I am really quite proud of.
It’s like everything is going my way. There I said it…out loud.
I can’t help but wonder then if I say a few other things out loud if they make come true.
So for this Friday I am going to write down the five most ridiculous things I can think of off the top of my head for my Bucket List.
In hopes of course that they will come true because….Hey Why Not?
1. World Wide Best Selling Author
2. Travel to every Continent
3. Do a Triathlon… haha just kidding never gonna happen.
4. Court side Season Tickets for my beloved Denver Nuggets
5. Inspire People with my Writing on a Global level.
Just in case you’re curious I left out; Marry Brad Pitt, Become President and Change The World because while it’s a great idea it has always been entirely too vague for my taste.
What ridiculous or even non-ridiculous five things would you add to your bucket list today?
Happy Friday Everyone!!!
