I would love to do some writing here with my toes dangling in the water of Lake Michigan.
Thanks Emily for the photo, you will be taking me here when I visit Chicago.

One of the new categories I am introducing is called “Writing Places”. It is going to be a a photographic showcase of all the places I do my writing and all of the places I dream about doing my writing.
It occurred to me that I should probably show where I currently do most of my writing, I like to call it my hot mess desk. As you can see there are notebooks, laptops and general mayhem. I make notes everywhere and never seem to focus on any single project for more than a few moments at a time. I wonder if I could actually write in an organized space?
Where do you all do most of your writing? At home, at some exotic location? Is it neat and tidy or if possible is it even more chaotic than my current space?
As long as your writing I am sure the space is just write for your creative flow.
Have a Great Weekend Everyone!
Yes I am in the middle of three different projects… and yet I have also been contemplating starting yet another.
There is an idea that captures my imagination whenever I have a free moment. For now it is just a collection of thoughts in search of a way to be put to paper.
Here is what I am working on for the opening paragraph:
There comes a time when you must achieve the dream regardless of who you must use to get there. If you are afraid you don’t deserve it, quite simply you are too weak for your them. Chasing the elusive white rabbit will consume you. Regret and consequence are not your concern, that only thing that matters is what you seek most. Surely even you can capture love.
It was nice to step a way from here for a week and gain some perspective on what I want to do next.
As you can tell I have completely changed the layout of my blog, don’t worry some of the usual posts will still be coming but I will be introducing some brand new categories starting tomorrow night.
What I am most excited about is that I am going to start putting snippets of my works in progress up here for the world to see; I hope to receive good feedback and helpful criticism. I really want to continue to make this blog more and more interactive.
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Please feel free to share them.
Thank you for your patience, I can’t wait to see which way the wind takes our ship.
The scent is utterly recognizable. To him it is serenity. To some the musk, the leather and the age would bring up disconcerting emotions. For him, his blood pressure drops and his mind clears. There is no description that can do the ambiance justice. This is a place while full is vacant of any worries.
The need to escape now is greater than ever. Destruction, death and apathy weigh heavily on the soul. It ages a man far past his years, the lines are added to his face, the stress upon his heart. An escape if only for a moment can bring immeasurable relief.
He enters the room fully and makes his way to his faithful chair. Sinking into it, he closes his eyes and reaches for the side table out of instinct. His fingertips feel the etched writing on its spine. Opening his eyes the book, The Great Gatsby, was in front of him. His eyes adjusted to the text, he let go of any remaining grasp on reality.
Survival if only for a page was undeniably his.
I just wanted to take a moment to THANK everyone for all of their support, we hit 1,500 followers last night. It’s not just the numbers that are exciting but it is the honest feedback that grabs my attention most.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am for all of your thoughts and words of encouragement.
I also want to take a moment and say that I truly appreciate all of the awards people have nominated me for, it is humbling and encouraging if only there was more time in the day.
I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring, I am planning on some changes and updates as I will finally have extra time to focus on my writing at the end of the next two weeks.
Let’s go great places together!
