The river bed is just a suggestion, the beauty is in seeing just how far it can go.
Find a new shore and enjoy the show.

Every once and a while I get the urge to write or share something outside of literature, it spices things up.
I think what I like most about the summer is its ability to be dramatic. It can be sunny and cheerful one moment and then dark and destructive the next.
You think you can see the storm coming but you can never be sure until it arrives.
There is no preparation only experience.
It strikes me as the right way to approach the world
and
for me, for tonight, writing.
This past weekend I got to spend the night up in Steamboat Springs. One night was worth the three hour drive. There is just something special about being up there. It’s more than the altitude, the overflowing rivers, and the unimpeded view of the stars.
It’s calming, it’s rejuvenating, it helps a person re-align their priorities to start again.
Cheers to the next moment, photograph, and story.
I have been on a bit of a book binge lately. I have ferociously read close to seven books over the last five days and when I am not reading I have been buying new books to read.
I have tried to make the switch to e books but there is just something so comforting when I am holding the book in my hands. As a result books are everywhere and I mean everywhere in my house. There has got to be a better way.
I was wondering around the Internet when I came across this under “unique bookshelves”. It might just be perfect. I can’t think of a better place to read and set up a library then in a room filled with large windows and books around those windows. After all books are a window to another world.
What does your dream library look like?
Too bad I don’t write horror stories- the view from the office this morning is gloomy.
I wonder what type of first lines it would inspire…
Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve this imagination of mine?
Must be a mix of something good, something bad, and a bit of something else.
Some days it stays at bay, other days it run rampant, never wanting to be caught.
Caught by the pen,
Caught by the page,
Caught forever by the reader.
I find that sometimes you have to look in different places for inspiration and answers for your writing. I decided to read a Kerouac because there is something about his writing that just speaks to me, I know I am not the only one. His use of first person narration is masterful and while I don’t want to emulate it in my current novel I want to take away some of his tricks. Besides, while reading this I feel like I am on an adventure and nothing gets the creative juices flowing like an adventure.
What are some novels you all read to go on an adventure?
HIKE. BIKE. DRINK.
