Snow Falls Everywhere,
Wind Whips Through My Neighborhood,
Respite Found In Bed Reading.
I have found that after a long, hard week of work and hopefully writing there is no better way for me to relax than to crawl into the bath tub with a great book. It is a great place to imagine my next story. I had no idea, however, that there was actual set-ups for it, I had always winged it hoping that my beloved book did not end up in the water. It even has a place for me to put my week-ending cocktail, I may never leave my bath tub again. I can’t help but wonder if this is just a woman’s thing, do any of my male followers partake in this? I am quite curious.
Happy Friday Everyone.
It is the end of another long and successful week, while I was looking for fun bookshelves for my Friday post I came across this gem. Yes, that is an upside bookshelf which seemingly holds the books onto it, I remain skeptical. Either way it is fun and imaginative; sometimes it is better to try something completely outside of the ordinary, who knows what amazing idea you may come up with? It may not work or it may work beyond your expectations but you have to think outside of the box or even perhaps upside down to get to those ideas. Happy Friday Everyone!
In the New Year I made an important decision, I would leave my literary comfort zone, the selection of this book is direct result of that. It is not that I am opposed to Vonnegut or any of his books, for years people have been telling me to pick them up, yet each time I resisted. I can admit now that those decisions were terrible, I have been missing out.
“Cat’s Cradle” focuses on a man named John and his journey to get the real story of the day the “bomb” dropped during WWII, he wanted the behind the scenes details of the man who created it, Dr. Hoenikker. What follows is fascinating, satirical and highly comical journey of one man who observes society, religion and science fighting for dominance. The language is not complex but the word play and the book’s over all structure allow the careful reader to catch a glimpse of how man, religion and most importantly science came together to perhaps destroy the world.
You will walk away from this book with a new appreciation for writing and a new way perspective on everyday personal interactions.

The first full week of the New Year, the first full week of school and more books on hand that I can possibly read. It is a fantastic yet daunting way to get the year rolling; the last few Friday posts have been all about finding inspiration, this one is not. After all the inspiration and hard work there has to be a reward otherwise what is the point? I have always enjoyed a nice warm bath and book to unwind after a long week, this is the ultimate version of that experience. Can you just imagine yourself in this cave hot tub in Santorini Greece unwinding with your favorite book? I can, Happy Friday Everyone!
The temperatures are dropping, the end of the year is coming and all I want to do is curl up in front of a nice warm fire-place and let my book take me away. In beautiful Colorado it has yet to hit above 32 degrees this week and while I love the beauty of winter I get tired of the constant shiver when the cold is not interrupted by the usual sunshine. It is time for a final dose reading and relaxation before a new, exciting and action packed year begins. Happy Friday Everyone!
On a cool balmy morning the mist still covering the low laying hills, the separation of structure and nature is gone. Seamlessly the tepee has risen from the earth; creating a fortress only previously seen in fairytales. This is the type of place where a good book is meant to be written or read, it can take a person to another place. Happy Friday!
When I started posting on Fridays this was the type photo that I found to be inspiring. I have never had a fireplace so the idea of turning one into a place to store all of my beloved books sounds fabulous, unless of course the heat goes out and its a cold winter’s night. I could just imagine curling up on a big, fluffy coach and diving into one of the classics, the fireplace being a portal for my imagination.
