-The Looks, The Whispers.
Ashamed in one way.
-Ambivalent in another.
The end will be the relief.
-Cold, Heartless, Resigned.
Within myself the strength lies.
-Feel Everything.
-Feel Nothing.
Achieve Acceptance.
—For Bitterness Will,
—Slowly Kill The Soul.
Beneath the surface,
Frustration grows,
Anger mounts.
Self control is grasped
Tenuously.
Remember to prevent
Your weakness is to know,
Yourself.
Engage in the battle of
Will.
Everything will
Eventually be
Behind you.
Leave Nothing To Regret.
From the abandoned floor he could see everything. The city lay before him lit up in the night sky. Every builidng called to him by name. The choices were overwhelming. All he needed was one singular building but he was unable to narrow the list to five. Sipping from his coffee mug he let his soul lead his eyes. Off in the distance his muse finally appeared. He sat down on the carpet and began to write. Write the words to match the building to match his love for the woman he would ask to be his wife.
Dusk approaches, the twilight appears;
For most the day winds down.
I am not most.
Once the fire sets fully,
The embers bring about another realm
Of creativity.
On the precipice of darkness
My passion reveals itself.
By candlelight my pen;
Searches,
Scratches,
Creates.
Patience, patience had become John’s greatest virtue. No matter how many times he cleaned, cooked, or begged Alex had not relented. It took two weeks for her to finally give in and utter a complete sentence in John’s direction.
Alex knew she was being absurd, she knew she had overreacted to his friendly teasing. She knew that it had been extreme to dump all that water all over him. Alex was well aware that not speaking to him for two weeks while they shared an apartment was borderline cruel. But in the end she found she couldn’t help herself, she was hurt. So very hurt with no idea as to why it had hurt, much less how she could go about expressing it.
Today Alex had spoken to him, her best friend, she couldn’t remember the last time she had gone that long without speaking to him.
As she sat alone in her room in utter silence she understood she needed to find the answer, what made it hurt so much?
The lights come with the season;
Basic, More, Extraordinary.
Each year there is a new story;
Time, Effort, Exhaustion.
Their beauty inspires;
Wonder, Intrigue, Awe.
In the end;
Hope, Love, Contentment.
If only for the moment.
