Fallen but its beauty only changes.
Gone is the prestige of standing tall and proud.
It’s replaced by an understanding that there is an opportunity to give back.
From a new perspective the view of the world doesn’t change but what can be offered has changed forever.
It is empty yet filled with thoughts.
It was limited by walls but not by a ceiling.
I am unique among structures of conformity.
The last gasp of the day ruptures the sky.
Only here, only now.
Let’s not think of tomorrow.
The month when the color is finally
stripped off of everything.
No more protection only
foundations remain.
What summer secrets will be revealed
for everyone to see?
The Ego is define as a person’s sense of self importance- and to me it is vastly underrated.
It is my ego that lets me look at this view and say those few clouds should be with the rest below me.
“After and only after my ego has taken me where I need to be, where I should be, will I think about giving it a break. I can’t promise I will look for humble though, don’t ask for that.”- A
What is the first thing that you notice?
Perhaps that it is the chain link fence with its numerous connotations-
Maybe it is the solid linking chains wrapped around the handle of the gate-
Or even better it’s the padlock, so worn from the weather that it’s blue strip around the bottom has faded to rusted metal.
The blockade has been set up for so long the weeds have become overgrown offering nature’s own additional locking system.
It would seem there is no way around, this is the end, this is the point where you return to your previous existence.
This is it.
It is for many-
For those who don’t want to think a bit more, for those who don’t fully wonder- afraid to ponder- curiosity was was never their muse.
They miss it-
You can too if you want.
Any child would hop the fence or even-
walk the extra one hundred yards to get around.
You are your only obstacle-
You and-
You alone.
It’s so incredibly easy to look down-
Watch each step you take one by one. You never
have to look anyone in the eyes.
It’s so incredibly easy to look down-
You never have to worry about hazards or opportunities whipping
by.
It’s so incredibly easy to look down-
You never have to take a chance because the ground is solid
beneath you.
It’s so incredibly to look down-
And miss the beauty that’s in the sky just above the tree tops.
Trying to capture those precious creative moments just before my eyes close.
The light no matter how small or how quickly it disappears keeps me writing.
Creativity cannot be forced but captured if only for a moment.
As a kid I used to pick these and then make a wish-
It’s funny now I can’t even remember what I wished for-
It was more about making the wish-
I suppose there is a lesson to be found there.
HIKE. BIKE. DRINK.
