Bloom

Winter, summer, spring, and fall

despite what is said and too often believed- a flower can bloom anytime.

Within, that’s where the beauty is found, with all its color stripped.

Given a glimpse of sun,

given a drip of water,

given a chance,

the roots take hold.

Capture it in your mind, memories forever give the kind of justice a photograph fails to do.

Fallen Tree

So often, too often it’s chewed away.
In the forest or on a city street,

there is constant chipping.

Something stronger or something preying on the weak, equally unnerving.

Foundations forever removed,

Facades continually replaced,

I wait for the opportunity of new life.

Missing In Action

Sorry everyone I haven’t been putting too much time in here but I have had great progress on my NaNoWriMo novel 🙂
I am at 30k and with a snow day hoping to end at 40k.

How’s everyone doing as we hit the second half of the month?

Atmosphere

Inspiration for a story can be found anywhere. The novel I am writing for NaNoWrimo takes place in present time but there are hints of the past.

When I think of what kind of past I want to incorporate I can’t help but think of the historic Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. The grandeur, the beauty, and the mystery of what lies behind the scenes calls out to me.

What is everyone else using to help build their novels?

Fruitlessly she danced,

Encouraged by unknown love,

There was no music.
